What does an inspired life look like to you?
When you are doing a practice that you love and brings you relief, it's inspiring!
And even better is when we can learn with other like-minded folks through meaningful conversations. Connecting with others in a heartfelt way is what so many of us crave. It fills us up and builds friendships.
The Meridian Flow combination of yoga with Chinese medicine’s five elemental paradigm is unique and adds so much depth to your practice. The focus on the meridians (energy pathways) of the organs that are energetically running the strongest each season keeps your yoga practice fresh and relevant.
Meditating on breathing through the meridians while in yoga poses amplifies your focused concentration (dharana, the sixth limb of yoga) which brings the mind into meditation, (dhyana, the seventh limb of the eightfold path of yoga). Through this focused breathing, anxiety is relieved and a calm-centered mind is cultivated. Both Chinese medicine and Yoga agree that where the mind goes, the energy (Qi) flows.
Each season a pair of organs are energetically running the strongest. The Meridian Flow practices specifically choose yoga sequences and qigong sets to stimulate the meridians of the season. This way your yoga practice also becomes an acupressure treatment.
This is the beginning of yoga and medical qigong becoming part of our society's way of healing from trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and autoimmune issues.
The Master's Path students come from various professions, from nurses, doctors, teachers, social workers, fitness trainers, and therapists who use these practices as tools to help their students, clients, and patients find relief.
“I’ve walked out of a weekend training feeling out of body, yet more connected to my body than I ever knew I could be. We chant together and connect, we sit in silence and connect, we move our bodies and connect...every part of this training is connecting us to a deeper energy that all yogis hear about and read about - and we are truly experiencing.”
Expand your practice to evolve and mature with you.
After doing yoga for some time, your practice can get a bit stale.
Many of the Master's Path student's yoga practice matures as they do, and they yearn for more depth with a like-minded community, does this sound like you?
You want to immerse yourself with others who are also interested in deepening their yoga practice. To bounce ideas and discuss the yoga teachings in depth and refresh our practices that bring inspiration and a sense of calm is so fulfilling.
Master Your Emotions with this multi-faceted practice
If you'd like to stay inspired with other yogis' and learn seasonal yoga and qigong practices, meditations, and breathwork, and have deep meaningful conversations that reflect how the ancient teachings pertain to your current lives, then consider joining us.
Each season has specific emotions with the same energetic frequency held in a pair of organs. For instance, in the spring, the focus is on the liver and gallbladder Qi (energy), which is running the strongest. When the liver Qi is maladapted (excessive or deficient) the emotions that express are anger and frustration. When the Qi is brought back to a harmonious flow, inspiration, kindness, and generosity prevail.
Understanding the challenging emotions you suffer from and how to bring yourself back into balance through meridian stimulation is taking your practice to the next level! The practices you’ll learn for each season stimulate the meridians of the specific organs to create a smooth flow of Qi, so you can benefit from positive emotions and ultimate health. This way you’ll master your emotions, rather than being controlled by them.
In this Master’s Path, we simultaneously work on the energy body, emotional body, and physical body, according to seasonal energies.

Meridian breathing is a wonderful tool to use when meditating; it can be done in any location to center your mind. It’s a sure method that has helped so many students go from a lot of pain and anxiety to minimal pain and a sense of calm confidence.

The Master’s Path will deepen your practice and align you with the seasons. When we freshen our practice each season with specific meditations, breathwork, yoga, and qigong sets that activate the energy of the organs that are in ‘high tide’, we feel energized, calm, and centered. Plus it will keep your practice new and interesting by stimulating the meridian pathways of the organs that are running the strongest each season, which will make you feel better emotionally and physically.

The Master’s Path combines yoga and Chinese medicine, therefore we are upping our focus and knowledge beyond the typical yoga class. The Master’s Path Meridian Flow and Yin classes are specific to seasonal energies. Understanding that the energy of the seasons has a direct effect on our organs and emotions helps to advance our practice to align with nature. These grounding practices shift anxiety and chronic pain into a calm inspired mind and a strong, flexible pain-free body.

Maggie Heinzel-Neel is the founder of the Master’s Path, author of The Empowered Yogi, and owner of Vitality Yoga Flow.
The peaceful feeling I receive from practicing yoga asana and pranayama and the empowerment from becoming strong and flexible is at the core of my teaching. After years of debilitating back pain and a very inflexible body, I finally took my first yoga class. People say they’re not flexible enough for yoga - if they only knew what I looked like (for a very long time) in my practice! But what made me stick to it is how I felt afterward – elated.
I combine a wide range of experiences – a dynamic physical workout with precise alignment instructions, focus on breath within the poses, spiritual reflection, and a mindfulness observation that leads to a meditative experience. My prime focus is on the breath throughout the entire class, which provides cleansing from the inside out. I strive to teach an equal part of challenge and nurture, a balance of feminine and masculine.
My initial training came from a foundation in Iyengar Yoga and then Ashtanga, resulting in an alignment-based vinyasa flow which is slightly slower than the typical vinyasa flow, emphasizing alignment as we move with a rhythmic breath.
Trained in Medical Chi Gong and using the 5 elemental theories to guide the practices according to the seasons, I overlay these teachings in the Meridian Flow Yoga+Qigong. This is the ultimate combination of a strong physical practice combined with a deep inner focus on moving our energy (Qi) in the patterns of the energy highways. It’s a unique combination that is deeply healing.
